Just do it, or it’ll never get done.

August 1st, 2005

Well, here it is. High hopes of starting The Haystack with my own design have been violently thrown out the window, as I realized that getting started is more important than getiing it perfect. There’s plenty to discuss, plenty to share, and it would be a shame to let that wait on my new design. But, in (hopefuly a short amount of) time, it will come. I’m working on it.

It can’t be worse than a Coming Soon page.

While at college, I drew a single-panel editorial cartoon entitled “Tales from The Haystack”. Tales was a collection of observations, poured into a sarcasm blender and served by the college newspaper. It was a nice way of chewing on and recording certain thoughts. A blog offers this and more, allowing a broader subject range and plenty of freedom. I don’t need to draw, although I’m sure I will. After years of being inspired by many talented people and their weblogs, it’s time for me to dive in and explore.

This weblog is intended to be a personal collection device. I have set up no specific agendas or rules for myself. It simply “is”, and will most likely reflect my thoughts and interests at any given moment. It might be great, it might be boring. It may never be read, and that’s okay. But if you are reading this, you’ve found me, so I hope you find something here, now or in the future, which is worth your while.

Thanks for reading.
